Natural sound sources recorded in Japan, Nepal, and India by H. Kojo. This collection of five pieces is a fine representation of how natural sound sources (in this case, insects, fog, wire, wind bell, forest, and glass harp are named, among others) can be manipulated and processed to form new perspectives on reality, or new realities entirely. With titles suchas 'Flood', 'Exude', and 'Expanse', Kojo has captured the essence of his work: peaceful, yet pulsing with whispering, shimmering life.

Another awesome Octpia cdr release. This studio project of Hitoshi Kojo uses the most interesting and haunting location recordings. Recorded in Japan, India and Nepal, the environments are all very organic, open and natural. But there is this ghostly affect as they are all woven together. There are also distant instruments, primitive rituals and songs played out by spirit-people. This collection of tracks is a mind-bender, taking the listener somewhere else, an impossible collision of many places at once. I like the setup: a heartrending wall of softly shifting winds and watery textures on the first track, very dense and dramatic for some unknown reason. There's an emotional quality to this work. Comes with beautiful artwork, ricepaper covers and interesting text.

Very nice spheric drones from this new artist from Tokyo, using field recordings for creating deep reverberating spheric rooms with a sometimes more feedbacking-noisy charakter. Great work !

Great drone-work by a master of the form. Snippets of mysterious short wave radio broadcasts evolves into huge, otherworldly symphonies related to Ligetis Lux Aeterna, but warmer and more humane. Absolutely absorbing!
